Son Matthew and new daughter-in-law Elaine were married Saturday afternoon at a beautiful ceremony in the shadow of Mt. Evans at Juniper Pass. Weather was great – “picture perfect” – meaning no serious wind.
On Friday we hosted a bar-b-q in the backyard for family and friends (the brothers BBQ folks really know how to cook it up), then headed up to the mountain for the Saturday ceremony, then back down to Denver for a fabulous dinner reception at Parallel 17.
Matthew’s friend Steve Nowland took the wedding photographs leaving me to enjoy the moments – except the portraits we took above timberline on Mt. Evans right before the ceremony.
It was really nice, and a little bit weird, to be at a wedding without serious camera gear, running around like crazy pushing the button all the time. Thanks Steve for doing this, and thanks to Andy Olson for his photography and audio-visual expertise, and everyone else who kept those cameras firing away.
The 2 ceremony shots and cake shot were taken with the trusty new iPhone4 – once I figured out how to use the camera in it.
Enjoy the photographs.
Congrats to Elaine and Matthew – two soul mates for sure.
