The New Photography Acquisitions at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum in Santa Fe showcase interesting and intriguing images of the late artist. These photographs and the video playing just inside the museum entrance gave me insight into not only her life, but the life she and husband/photographer Alfred Stieglitz led. Maybe I’ve been living in a cave, but much of this is new info to me. Better late than never, eh?
I always like taking a peek into the Monroe Gallery of Photography not only to check out the current exhibit, but to look at the “classic” images on the back walls and in the small back room. The Andrew Smith Gallery provides similar visual stimulation.
After all this I couldn’t help but set my little mirrorless camera to monochrome mode, square format, and explore the early morning light around the quiet Plaza of Santa Fe.
Great trip! Always learning something new from you.
